I really think all girls entering Miss Texas Teen U.S.A. should go at large. I have heard many stories why some girls do not want to go with the director of RGV U.S.A. Whatever it may be, you can always enter. If you have a coach or someone that can guide you the right direction like Paty, Narsie, or this lady called Missy. Look at Miss Brownsville she entered at large and even beat the current Miss RGV U.S.A. by making it to top 16. These girls sometimes need a simple hand instead of looking like robots trying to imitate another queen. I have also heard you will likely spend more money if you go through the director. For example, taking coaching from out of town people, photos from the official photographer, and so on. From what I heard it only benefits the director and the person doing the lessons. I would like to hear some remarks on this topic. What are the up's and down's if you register through the director. Is it worth the drama we all hear?

[> Subject: I really think you need to get your story straight... 1) Emeraulde worked EXTENSIVELY with Debi before competing. She was "at large" beacuse she didn't with the Miss RGV title 2) Debi is a WONDERFUL director and brings down excellent coaches for her girls (Don Baker, Nicole O'Brian, etc.) 3) Patty and Missy are both AMAZING women 4) If you haven't competed and experienced it, don't bash a director or anyone else in the pageant scene you don't know.

[> [> Subject: The only person I know that helped Emeraude for Texas Teen USA was Cassidy. I was told that she showed her the modeling poses and what the runway looks like so when she got there she would know what's going on. This year Myssie helped her with her interview and conifdence in speaking. Debi didn't help her.

Debbie did not work extensively with Emeraude. She tried claiming her since last year. The newspaper last year stated girls going to Miss Texas USA under the direction of Debilou and Debbie listed Emeraude as one of them though not so. All she did was inform Emeraude about Mr. Baker coming to the valley last year in which Emeraude did visit with him but anyone can consult with him for about $150.00 per hour. Emeraude herself told me this.

Tami, what do you mean by Emeraude competing at large because she did not win the RGV USA title. She has never competed at RGV USA. And everyone knows they can compete at large without going thru RGV USA. Please explain. Unless I missed something.

Tami states that Debbie worked extensive hours with Emeraude for Miss Texas USA. Tami have you talked to Emeraude? Because I just did. She says she has NEVER coached with Debbie. So who is not getting her story straight? And extensive hours? Please!!! Hours with Don Baker but not with Debbie. Just to clarify. Give credit where it is due.

GOOD TO HEAR DEBI WILL NOT HAVE A RGV USA TEEN NEXT YEAR OR MAYBE NOT EVEN THE PAGEANT AT ALL! IT IS NOT AS IF SHE WAS A GOOD DIRECTOR TO START.

>Sorry ladies,I hate to burst your bubble, But
Emeraude was not the only one to make top 16 from the valley girls, Liza Miss RGV and Leslie Last years Miss RGV
also received the same letter as Emeraude and a whole lot of other girls that we dont know about, to notify them the too made top 16. I know , I saw the letter. But I love it when people like giving credit to only the people the so called trained...............
[> [> Subject: Every girl got a letter and yes it was also a personal letter from Al. If many girls got a letter saying they made it to top 16 then I'm sure I also got one even though I didn't compete!!

Myssie, You really think you know alot, Why dont you go back into the cave you cameout from so long ago. How long ago were you a queen. How Many titles have you won.??
I dont like people that brag and give themselves credit, let other peiople do it for you at least it will sound sincere.
[> [> [> [> [> Subject: Re":Myssie, You really think you know alot, Why dont you go back into the cave you came out from so long ago. How long ago were you a queen. How Many titles have you won.??" that's really not necessary. She does the best she can to be involved and to help the girls out.

[> Subject: I don't know who you think you are by bringing Myssie into this. She has a handle because she does not need to hide behind a monitor unlike many people who come on here. It sounds like you are the same person that brings Narce and other directors into the picture when they have nothing to do with any of the topics. Quit stirring up trouble.

From 1988 to 1993, a total of five years, I won 14 crowns, placed as finalist/runner up 6 times and didn't place at all twice. How many have you won?

I would jokingly say that my reign was way before your time... but it's not, is it? (ah the beauty of technology) If you take the time to read the archives, you will see that I do NOT take credit for any of the work the girls do. If they want a crown, they have to get it. I have never laid claim to holding some miraculous super-power of the crown. I simply say that I was lucky enough to work with some pretty phenomenal women who take pageantry seriously. In fact, correct me if I'm wrong but I believe even Nadia and I have a conversation on a string about this. I said it then and I'll say it now again... by the time I met each girl, they had already decided for themselves how well they wanted to perform. They were all molded into fabulous leaders and inspiring women long before I got the phone call for help from them.

I love each girl with all my heart. They are like daughters to me. I take pride in all that they do and all that they will become. I have nothing to do with their success. They choose their pathways to life.

If you think that you hurt my feelings by calling me a has-been or old or whatever... you're very very wrong. But hey, bring it on, baby. So long as your anger is focused on me and not the rest of these girls, I'm fine with that.

Why don't you start an "I hate Myssie" topic if that would make you feel better about yourself? Bash me all you want -- but leave everyone else alone. We're all tired of your nonsense.

To the rest of you, thank you so much for your defense & your phone calls. I love ya'll!

See you at Miss Edinburg!!!
