What you saw (And it sounds as though you visited the facility in St. Louis?) were the Morning Reports. They are in "Negative" format and as such difficult to read.

If you obtain any copies (Those from Alpha Company and Charlie Company for May 5, 6, 7, 8 of 1968 would be a great addition to the An Bao files we have) this hard to read Negative format can be inverted and more easily read.

As you state, Morning Reports simply give numbers...they are not rosters. They are intended to show the daily Company status in numbers only....however, they do list the names of casualties. These reports have helped clarify some names for our KIA list, but are very time consuming and red-tape intensive to try to obtain...unless you live in Saint Louis!

Might you be willing to help out from time to time by getting copies of selected morning reports for our archives? Nothing extensive, just would be a great addition to have some of these. In time I may be in touch with you to check for certain dates.

Sorry you could not find anything to help you in your search. Hopefully we will have the regular Association website back up and running by the end of the year. This has helped on a limited basis, but the main website is accessed by hundreds...and your inquiry might get a better response there once things are up and running again.

Our webmaster has done such a great job in the past that we have extended him every courtesy to allow him to regroup after a very difficult personal stretch...but it's now been several months past a promised "rekindling" and we may have to discuss alternatives soon.

Did you try contacting Gary Quint for A company information? If he cannot help, he could likely tell you who might know. Let me know if you need Gary's contact information.
