Scene opens in the locker room of John Taylor. We see Taylor on a chair, with his head down. He then gets up and paces around the room, his head on his chin, apparently thinking about his lost to Dante. He stops by one of the wooden lockers. He then spins around, sending his fist through the side panel of the locker, making a nice little hole. He then leans up against that same locker.

JT: I got cocky. I got arrogant. I allowed myself to lose the upper hand because I thought I had victory in my grasp. What was wrong with me!?

Taylor rips the wooden locker off the wall and throws it in the middle of the locker room. He then sits against the wall where the locker used to be and puts his hand on his forehead.

JT: I made rookie mistakes and I paid the price for it. Has the time away from the ring taken out most of my abilities? Maybe it's because I use the same moves over again.......or maybe it's because I've forgotten my abilities.

I did so well when I was a rookie in this league, but maybe it was because I was using my training instead of wrestling moves. It was so long ago that I've forgotten my discipline. My training has been lost because I lost the way, the path I traveled. Gold never meant so much back then, now it appears to consume me.

Taylor elbows the wall, but doesn't put a hole in it. Then there comes a knock on the door. Taylor becomes annoyed.

JT: No interviews!

Whoever is behind the door knocks again.

JT: I said no interviews!

A third knock, Taylor gives in.

JT: Fine, come in, but expect no answers to your questions!

The door opens and Allison enters. She peaks in to see the destruction done. Taylor sees her enter, and his angered expression disappears quickly to one of slight disappointment.

Allison: Uh, bad time?

JT: You could say that.

Allison enters the locker room and shuts the door. She leans up against the door, wanting to say something, but can't find the words for it. Silence ensues for a long time, until Taylor breaks it.

JT: Be honest, how bad did I look out there?

Allison: To be honest you did have that guy on the run for quite some time, but you seemed to get a little ahead of yourself and dropped your guard because of it.

JT: I was actually thinking the same thing. But why are you here, really?

Allison: I was concerned for you a little, that's all.

Taylor remained silent.

Allison: Maybe reviewing some of your training will help you in your next match.

JT: I need to do something, that's for sure.

Allison: The dojo will be empty all day tomorrow; if you want you can use the dojo.

JT: Wouldn't Sean be upset about that?

Allison: He's actually ok about it...and if you want you can have me as a training partner.

Taylor didn't say a word.

Allison: I'll show myself out. John, just don't be so hard on yourself. When I lost in that tournament so many years ago, you told me the same thing. "A loss is a way to learn from your mistakes, and from learning, you will find the path to victory" was your saying, I believe.

Allison exits the room, leaving Taylor to be alone.

JT: Actually, my teacher said that very same thing to me.

The scene fades, only to be replaced by another scene. We are inside an empty dojo, and it is very early in the morning. We see John Taylor, dressed in an karate gi(that’s uniform in Japanese). We see him kneeling in the middle of the floor with his eyes closed. He does this for sometime, either meditating or concentrating. Taylor suddenly gets up, opens his eyes, and bows. He stands up straight and performs a kata(a series of set movements and techniques). He performs the entire kata with a fierceness he seemed to have forgotten, as that’s what this kata’s purpose is. After the kata, he bows again, and pauses for a few seconds. Taylor then bows again, and begins to perform another kata, a different one from before. This one with more control, slow movement and slow breathing. He does this one for several minutes, stops, stands straight, and bows. He looks up and to his right where Sean Huntin is. He has two bo’s in his hand.

SH: Doing a kata is ok, but doesn’t help when you have to fight the real thing. You’re going to have to do more than just train by yourself. You will need to train with another to help you prepare for anything.

JT: I will. I’m fighting Mystic on Friday. His “revenge” match against me for what I did to him. I’ll have to prepare better than what I have been doing lately. It’s time to change.

Huntin walks up to Taylor and throws him one of the bo’s. Taylor grabs it, spins it around a little, and rests it behind his right arm, standing up straight. Huntin walks up to Taylor and does the same. They bow to each other and get into position.

SH: You have to concentrate better. And you’ve been lacking it for quite some time recently. It’s time to change all of that.

JT: …I know.

Huntin advances forward doing a few short jabs. Taylor blocks them all and backs up before stopping Huntin’s advance.

SH: What happen to the old John I knew. The one that never allowed himself to be cocky, the one that never stopped until somebody told him to, the one that would give his all and never hold back?

JT: He took a vacation.

Taylor advances on Huntin with some jabs on his own before following up with a spinning attack. Huntin blocks the attacks and stops the advance after the spinning attack.

SH: When’s he coming back?

Huntin pushes Taylor back and goes for a low sweep with the bo, but Taylor jumps it. Huntin spins around with a high attack, but Taylor ducks it. Huntin then goes for a straight lunge, but Taylor parries it and lunges his, stopping just short of Huntin’s face. There is a moment of silence. Then Taylor backs away, standing up straight.

JT: He just did.

Huntin stands up straight and they both bow to each other.

SH: So, what are you going to do about Mystic?

JT: Learn from my mistakes in my match on Terror. By doing so, I’ll put myself on the path to victory.

SH: Geez, where did I hear that from?

JT: And old voice from long ago. I’ll become better prepared for this match. Mystic claims I stopped him on his path to gold, and his anger has built up to the point that he would go after me and try to end me. I won’t let that happen. I will not drop my guard when I’m in that ring, and anything I did in the past should be forgotten. I’m going in that ring as the old Taylor. The one I used to be long ago. Mystic is going to have a tough fight ahead of him, and then I get back to Dante and repay him for helping me find myself again.

SH: This Friday, the return of John Taylor? Mystic should beware, for the monster is back and ready to rip out a few hearts. Wait, no thanks for me?

JT: I should thank you and Allison for helping me find the way again. This time I will not falter, I will not leave the path. I have come back, and I will make myself known on Fear that I am the storm after the calm.

SH: Being poetic? That’s so not like you.

JT: It’s a metaphor, dumbass.

SH: Hey, you better watch it now.

JT: Oh, you want a piece of me? Come on!

They raise up their bo’s and playfully attack each other, saying such like “Come and get me” or “Time to lose” while smiling. Behind a door, a person peeks through a crack seeing the two. It’s Allison, and she smiles seeing and hearing what Taylor said. The scene fades.
