When is it appropriate to post a crown photo of yourself when you're a former titleholder? I see some ladies doing this and always felt it takes away from the reigning queen, but on the otherhand, it helps to promote the system. -- Ms. & Mrs. Pageants

On her private Facebook page, whenever she wants. On a public Facebook page, when she clearly identifies the photo with the year. It is advertisement for the system because it demonstrates support from prior titleholders. (NT) Photos are great 02/16/15 Mon

as a director I think it's great and shows support just be sure to identify the year. Also remember some queens win and do nothing so you can't really take away from them if they're not promoting their title. (NT) Just my two cents 02/17/15 Tue

Agree! I am a former, but I dont' try to fool anyone - I"m supporting the system because I enjoyed my reign. I always hope it helps the system grow. I"m proud of the title, so once in a while, I"ll post something to show support. I am not sure how I feel about it. Many do nothing for the pageant, former, to help it grow and around pageant time post their crown shot. They don't even attend the pageant. I don't see it as support rather a reminder, "look at me, I was the queen too". (NT) -- : (, 03/12/15 Thu

There are many reasons a former may not attend the pageant. Sometimes the directors don't even include them in the program or ask them to help prepare for the year ahead. So, we can't take that away from them. They may still love the system and want to support it, but at a distance from the director of the pageant. (NT) -- Applauding Agree!, 03/14/15 Sat

Why is it the Directors responsibility to call formers? With all they have going on, that is on thing they shouldn't have to do! If a former WANTS to be involved they should call the director and ask how they can help. Start a private Facebook group for formers. List details of each yearly pageant and ask formers to please post if they have an appearance opportunity for the current queen or any local titleholders. If you're a former, and it's pageant season for the new year/new pageant and you're posting a photo in support, great! If you're going to appearances in regalia when your title is over and posting, then it's tacky. As far as going to pageants as a former - go with grace. is that so awful? I'm kinda proud of my affiliation with certain systems, and maybe it's selfish and ego boosting, I guess you could see it that way, but I am honest to god proud of being a part of certain systems & hope it thrives. I put my photo up when it's Mrs US week, or America week. I did'n't think it was offensive or being a show off. My goodness, I"m proud and humbled to have been a part of it. No, it is not awful at all. I'm assuming that the poster who commented on those of us who suuport certain national pageants by posting our individual state winning headshots, is either someone who never won or who never should have been in pageants to begin with when you have an attidue like that.
