It isn't Kate's baby. It's Aaron, Claire's baby. Claire must have given him to her when the Oceanic 6 left the island.

And it's looking more and more like I was right in the first place about there being a huge coverup regarding the plane crash to keep the island hidden. In the coverup story Jack told in court there were eight survivors of the crash, so they're probably saying that a still-pregnant Claire was one of the two non-sixers, and she died while giving birth or something and Kate adopted him.

All signs seem to be pointing to the losties other than the Oceanic 6 all still being stuck on the island and it's not looking too good for them there, which is why Claire wanted to get Aaron off the island with Kate and NotCharlie wanted Hurley to start telling people the truth about the island and expose the coverup.

And you know what's really cool about this twist? It fulfills Claire's first season prophecy that something bad would happen if Aaron wasn't raised by her. It's just sorta backwards from how it seemed before; it looked like Aaron being raised by someone else would cause the badness, but instead it's the other way around.

But I'm still reeling from the mindfuck where halfway through the episode it's pretty much revealed that Sawyer knocked Kate up (holy crap), and then 20 minutes later, it turns out he didn't!

I love how this show messes with your head, I really do.
