Not as much as last week. -- Gabs, Friday, February 08, 09:27:55am [1] (146-45.cable.senselan.ch/83.222.146.45)
Too much weirdness going on.
I can't stand the British chick. Or Miles. The other two are cool, though.
I'm glad Ben is still alive, I'm sure the show would be a lot less creepy and fun if they offed him.
A cow? This island gets more crazy each day.
"Who are we to argue with taller ghost Walt" made me lol really hard.

we had coverage of the sugar refinery explosion til 9:50 -- Ninevolt, Friday, February 08, 09:35:48am [1] (nat-lib.scad.edu/69.41.96.9)
so all I got was from "she wasn't on the plane" on.
*pfft*
while I do care about the people affected by the explosion, two hours of local network affiliates having anchors converse with reporters (who were stationed at the site and at emergency rooms) on cell phones verged on sensationalism rather than conveyance of information, which they kept insisting was their purpose: "we're just trying our best to get the information out to you, our viewers..."
the people who were (and are) being affected directly by this weren't home watching television...they were in the ERs and at the site trying to find their friends and families. it felt insincere --- like a grab for sound bytes that might make it into the national coverage.
wow, okay...stepping down from my soapbox now.

i *love* closed captioning -- Ninevolt, Friday, February 08, 01:58:47pm [1] (nat-lib.scad.edu/69.41.96.9)
i got into the habit of watching everything with CC on when Aisling was a baby. child wouldn't sleep unless it was quiet as a crypt. i tiptoed around, i turned pages *very* quietly, and i watched tv with the sound off.
i got used to it, so i tend to keep it on almost all the time. now it allows me to know what's going on when i can't hear over the kids. every once in a while it can ruin a reveal, though.
aggravates the piss out of David, too, when he goes to switch on the xbox and gets a big block of crap across the screen. *hee-hee* just doing my part.

Cloverfield tie in? -- Buhbuhraven, Friday, February 08, 02:30:37pm [1] (64-40-84-86.clec.commercial.madisonriver.net/64.40.84.86)
got this from another board (post is not by me)
The little baggie in that kids room that Miles found wasn't drugs, it was deep sea nectar. The stuff that was in Slusho and caused that Cloverfield monster. This could also explain the deep sea exploration when they found Oceanic Flight 815. Matter of fact there were some shots of the Cloverfield monster that came up during the Find815 game... so, it might be wishful thinking, but there could be a loose tie-in here. Oh, and there was a Dharma logo at the opening credits of Cloverfield.

I thought it was great -- calico, Friday, February 08, 01:27:43pm [1] (pc229h324i190.med.unc.edu/152.19.40.190)
I was actually only somewhat into last week's--Hurley was great but the rest of it didn't really seem to do anything.
This week, learning about these people brought together for a mission, not of the rescuing kind, was great. I think they've all sold their souls to the Dharma devil already, to learn more about the island/initiative and check up on how things are going on the island so Dharma can maybe make a comeback at some point.
Love.
