Well as a former grunt 2/501 101st 1968-69 I WOULD TELL YOU TO TAKE IT OFF. The CURRENT regulation says not to wear it because they say you did not complete the training for this badge...SO I would tell you to your face: Take the damn thing off...it don't mean shit anyway...If you did an actual Combat Assault in Vietnam then why give a fuck about some stateside training badge?
I say never wear anything you did not earn...even if you believe you earned it. Someone will call you on it, and without any proof you earned it under the regulations he will be right; so, why suffer the embarrassment over such a rinky-dink stateside trinket training badge when you did the actual thing in combat?
You don't need it...you did it in combat. Forget about it.
