 Land transfer in 1874 shows: Coomes, Indian to Shubael Claghorn. This appears in Deeds and section John Howland page 314. Who is this Indian named Coomes?
My ggrandfather James T. Coomes was born 1817, Baltimore, Md. The family dna does not correspond with any of the Coomes of any spelling submitted so far in the Combs list. He married 2nd Amanda Davis Ashe Co., NC. who is presumably Indian. Looking for his and her parents.
