 You have good clues there. She probably was a Canadian citizen and of a Walpole Island Indian Reservation family which would be a relatively unknown group among non-Indians of Marine City, MI. I would try to contact the First Nation of Walpole Island and see if there are records there that will help you.

Also, the 1881 and 1891 and 1901 Canadian censuses might show her with her family. Did she marry an American? Whom did she marry in order to have children (descendants)?
