On one side of the RV was my 12-year-old niece. She was trying to hide the fact that she was smoking. Inside my sister and husband were sleeping. Out front near the surf's edge were my mother and my wife's mother.
As my niece joined the boys, we gave them money to spend at the concession stand about a mile away. I could see the pack in the pants pocket of my niece.
As the kids walked down the beach, my mother stood up and reached for the Marlboro Light pack in her pants pocket. My mother lit a cigarette. I asked where dad was. She said he was in the nearby beach house recovering from an "orgasmic moment."
As the smoke exited her mouth, she said she learned to inhale last night which excited both of them. She needs to learn about the happy pants. Mom confided that she examined a disk to find that my sister had smoked. She dubbed in a pic of her smoking which should surprise my sister when she downloads everything.
"If you keep this up, they'll know pretty soon," my wife warned. Mom said she keeps her cigarettes hidden, pointing to her pants pocket. I said that's where all the girls hide their cigarettes.
We're back but invited to a crab boil tonight which will be attended by all my parents children and grandchildren. It should be quite an event. That married couple that first gave mom a cigarette will be over. Wish they would invite their young neighbor. Can't have everything.
