I took the girls to the game. We won easily. Lunch was arranged for the team in the university cafeteria. A lot of parents stay. Jessica sat with Walt the entire game. Walt is the brother of Neely, the star of the team.
Jess is sort of the mascot on the team. They all like her.
After dressing, the players still had about 20 minutes to walk around the campus.
The parents and fans ate at other tables. I sat with Lauren, the non-smoking mother of Laurel and Laura. Also joining us was Alyson's mother, Jacquelyn. Lauren said we were some of the few non-smoking mothers on the team.
I said a couple of them only seem to be smoking to enjoy this playoff run. Jacquelyn said she thought she remembered that I smoked.
I said I was quit and trying to stay that way. Laurel said her girls keep trying to get her to start but she always tries a couple and gives up.
Jackie said she has never had a cigarette and doubts that her daughters have either. Daughters? I asked. She said the other 2 live in a different town and work. She said Alyson has a bf in this college and plans to go here.
Laurel and I were without our husbands today but Jackie is a single mother.
Laura and Lisa came in but did not sit at our table. Neither did Walt and Jessica. As we were leaving, Lisa arranged to ride with Laura. No telling how many cigarettes they had today. Walt and Jess wanted to ride with me.
The players could have been been released to their parent but all but Alyson rode back on a bus. Before we left, Jackie was introduced to this boy's single dad. They were to hang around the campus for a while. The rest of the girls got about 15 minutes to walk around the campus and meet at the team bus.
Jessica is about to go out with Walt. They will be the guests of Cameron and Neely. Then Jess and Walt will either come over here until about midnight or they can get dropped off at Clay's house. Clay is younger brother of Cameron and will have April over as his date as well as Zac and Charlotte.
