It's sad but my middle son's girl/friend Lee Ann and her mom are going to have to move in with her grandmother for at least the summer. She may be able to move in with her aunt Marla, who has a daughter a year younger, when school starts again yesterday.
My son gave us the news yesterday. I called Marla to nose around and she confirmed the news. He said he will be nice to Lee Ann but he's glad he found Ashley, daughter of Amy who works with me.
He spent some time with Ashley again last night. Overhearing them at yesterday's baseball game, it seems that Ashley's smoking experimentation has been limited to a few puffs/chokes Friday night.
My oldest son's team did win in the second game Saturday with more help from him than usual. This is sure a good way for parents to get a lot of sun.
When my triumphant son got in last night, he told his little brother he would like the older woman. My middle one said she doesn't smoke. My oldest said she will.
Then my oldest advised my youngest to get an older woman. He said Lacy is a more mature woman. He is about a month older than Lacy, the girl behind us.
My oldest said he is sure Lacy is as "cool" as her big sisters. "Cooler," my youngest said.
At the games, we lost the first one by the football score of 21-12. In the second game, it was 5-5 in the top of the fifth when basically our last pitcher got into trouble. The coach brought in our catcher, which sent our son from second to catcher.
Our son did well replacing the all-district catcher who has a college scholarship. He got beat around pretty much with fouls. His bat was still good and we ended up winning 12-6 to take the playoff series.
Apparently the catcher is now going to be the second pitcher behind Marc. My husband said the other boys are only fast-ball pitchers and really only need to be relievers.
Behind us, there was no relief for the wicked younger kids. It's a sad situation but even sadder that when the younger kids left Lacy's house and Laine and Cassie got in from their dates, the 3 girls joined their mother for a cigarette.
