In reply to: BobF333 's message, "Tell us about your smoking Friday" on 06:25:01 05/26/06 Fri

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
While outside the hospital to have a cigarette, my sister Sharon gathered 4 of her younger daughters and told them there would be no more smoking while she was in the hospital.
Sis had a baby girl early Wednesday morning. She is scheduled to leave the hospital Saturday and attend graduation that night. Probably, the baby won't come but don't bet against it.
A sister-in-law has volunteered to stay with the baby. Her family is also going to host the graduation, baby arrival combination Saturday. That must mean a cigar for me, also. Hope so. My daughter Kayla and Sharon's son Karl graduate.
Meanwhile, I have mixed opinions on recent smoking developments in my family.
My oldest daughter Erin has not smoked in 6 years -- since 16 -- but is smoking now while awaiting the birth of her third child. That is scheduled on July 4, my birthday.
More power to Kayla, left childhood a few weeks ago. She smokes at least 10 a day already. I would never promote it but she has broken up with this college guy she was with just about all her free time.
I've just caught my breath. At about 2 a.m. Wednesday, my sister had her 15th and final baby. It was a blessed moment but what has followed has not been so blessed.
Wheeled outside about 6 hours after she delivered, my sister lit her first cigarette in about 7 months. This once again Mom will be 43 on a week from Saturday. Mom and 8 pound baby are fine.
While Sharon is recovering and will probably be released from the hospital Saturday, some of her children have been up to no good.
Her daughter Kayla, who is 17, has been a smoker. Sharon's next 4 daughters, between the ages of 10 and 15 have smoked varying amount of cigarettes since their mom went to the hospital.
My daughters Kendra, who is 18, and Holly, who is 15, have been in on this sharing with their cousins. Kendra is a late but fast charging entry into the smoking field. Holly has been smoking for over a year.
What's worse is that my oldest daughter is smoking. Her third child is due July 4 which is our 25th wedding anniversary. Erin smoked from 13-16. She said the size of Sharon's child worried her.
So she lights up the morning after and has been smoking ever since. I just made one comment that smoking is not the way to attack heavy birth weights. What should I say? I'm smoking.
Erin says she will only smoke 5 Marlboro Lights a day. I hope she ditches the pack or at least does not have another pack. It will be her third child but don't tell us about smoking with your hands full.
