Well, I guess I'm busted as a smoker. Still, if Jessica or Lisa bring it up, I will still call my 11-cigarette night just a fling.
We were at this clandestine place last night when Hillary, sister of a boy Jessica knows, and Laurel, who is still in her softball season, walked in with dates.
I had my Marlboro pack and a half empty glass of wine in front of me. I was smoking a Marlboro. I said hello. My only hope is that I am such a smoker that they never knew I'm trying to give it up.
Hillary was seen smoking Friday. Laurel, the only senior on the softball teams who plays much, has a sister who had Lisa over the night before. My husband and I suspect the 12-year-olds smoked.
They sat near us and smoked pretty much. They are both 18. It's hard to believe Hillary jumped into smoking so fast after running a distance race in the regional track meet Friday afternoon.
I did keep the pack, something I had not planned, but woke up this morning and took my coffee without smoking. I can just taste the cigarettes. I fear I will going through the runny nose, runny eyes things again.
This act will be difficult to hide. I'm almost hoping they figure out or find out I was smoking so I can have another CIGARETTE. Really, I'm telling myself I can make it. Actually, the experience of being quit, smoking heavily and then going back to quitting may make me stronger.
My parents watched the children and then went to a motel room. They said the girls had no guests and never tried to go outside. We are to go to church with them. They found each other again (after a split) and found religion. Mom was smoking some but dad got her to stop that. I'll take that trade off to have them together again. Church won't hurt any of us.
Before they head home, we greet my sister and extended family. My sister will be burning cigarettes and exposing me to that uninhaled smoke.
My husband should be ashamed of taking me to that place and asking me to smoke. I'm sure there are other backsliders among the congregation. I sure gave him Happy Pants last night. He had the view of Laura and Hillary, and others, smoking, so he had Excited Pants, too.
