Jett - We both know that the adverisers don't want pre '64 music playing a major role. As I said, this is a "Classic Hits" format aimed at a younger audience. As for oldies fans, we'll give you a few jocks from the old format and some of the music, but we're going into the 80's. We would like you to hop on board, but what you hear is what you get. And you'll still have your old jingles (minus the word "oldies"). And plenty of people are happy with this, as is reflected on this board.
As for "real" oldies on the HD 2 band, I don't see that happening because it might draw listeners away from the new station, especially if they also put it on the web. I don't see many people buying hd radios yet. due to poor reception issues. I think the new station will do well, even though it's not what people like you and I would like it to be. It's a nice place to visit for awhile as you continue to jump thru the presets. I am happy for Bob Shannon and wish him the best.
