blah blah blah what you don't seem to understand is that it's those like YOU who go bad mouthing the things that are done that end up being the demise of the station! You're a 60 something who'd complained about WCBS back when & THAT is what the advertisers heard you & yours complaining! This radio station hasn't been back 24 hours & here you & yours are on the computer which is VERY visible & talking about "what was wrong with it & why I'll continue with Sirius Radio" Advertisers hear this & you can want to blame it on those people "catering to the younin's" all you want but the fact is they are HEARING the whinning from those upset over a single change in format! Mickey Dolins for example I found *cute* being a DJ & he was someone from my youth......... The same way you found the "Doo Wop" stuff precious to you so I found Mickey Dollins! It was the time of "Marcia, Marcia, Marcia" & all that silly late 60's/early 70's stuff, OLDIES in ever sense of the word & yet for you no they weren't the same as the DOO WOP stuff. I do vividly remember the "standards" being played on occassion on WCBS & thinking "hmm I love this but it's a bit old for the young ones." yet they still got played. Now it wasn't elevator music but the "standards" the likes of Rosemary Cloonie etc. & of course they weren't played 24/7 because those wanting the 50's & 60's stuff weren't going to want to hear the standards non stop. It was a GREAT mix of oldies! I have to tell you the Sunday Doo Wop night use to be down right PAINFUL for me & I was one who LIKES oldies! I would have listened to the standards our parents had listened to before Doo Wop & WCBS was RIGHT for getting rid of that hour! The Doo Wop stuff was still played on WCBS prior to the end 2 years ago it was just mixed in with other erras so those of us who hated it didn't have to listen to it for hours. & yet with all the complaining of you & yours we ended up completely losing the station because the ADVERTISERS can HEAR you belly acking. If you don't like it then you don't listen but before the advertisers hear you again SHUT UP.........
