Matt - I agree with alot of what you say, but I don't think segmented programming would work. If they played a block of a certain type of music at a set time each day, people would tune it on or tune it off according to their tastes. I think the station wants everybody listening all the time. Specialty shows might work on off hours, but they still run the risk of a large portion of the station's audience tuning off for hours at a time. As much as I would like to see a doo wop shop, I realize there would be a large number of younger listeners who would say "so long, be back in three or four hours!" And I would think the station wants the older listeners to embrace newcomers like Broadway Bill and Joe Causi.
