Yes I'm sure they did get less money at the start but that's just because it's on the upstart. Free radio will not be able to compete with the shock value of paid radio. There's no regulations & the shock Jocks can say & do almost whatever they want etc. As the paid for radio catches on free radio will not be able to keep up because all the viewers who don't have every song what they want or who don't want more than 30 seconds of talk or who want more talk or something *just their way* will be able to find that on paid radio & they'll let go of free radio for the paid. How many have come to this very board & said just that? "I'm happy you're all getting this radio station, but they won't be playing my music & so I'll not compromise & I'll stay with Sirius". This person won't be the only one thinking this & he's promoting Sirus radio to boot. As the audiance grows so too will the pay checks of the Jocks. Cable TV didn't start out with 500 channels ya know? It was "the cable box" & you had to have the 1 cable channel in order to get that "HBO" which showed rated R movies that most parents didn't even want in the house & the boxes came with (no kidding) key locks. I couldhave counted the number of houses that had "the HBO channel" on 1 hand at the time & then just 10 years later I would have been counting the houses that didn't have it. & now here we are 20 years. later & there's 500 cable channels etc. etc. Free radio is going to be a thing of the past because they will not be able to keep up with the pay for radio.
