Subject: SCAM, Bag of Goods, Watered down drivel

This format that they are trying to sell to New Yorkers as WCBS-FM 101.1 is nothing but a bag of goods, a scam, watered down drivel. I've really hoped and wanted this to be a success but what they are doing won't appeal to loyal listeners of WCBS-FM. This station was built on the music of the fifties and sixties. It's what rock n roll is all about. Although I think it's fine to occasionally play music of the seventies and eighties, it shouldn't be the main thrust of what you're broadcasting. Most seventies and eighties music can't compare with sixties and fifties music. To occasionally play a sixties or fifties song while mainly plating eighties and seventies music is not going to sell in this town. I'm extremely disappointed and I find it difficult to continually listen to the new WCBS-FM 101.1. There is a fanatical person that constantly posts on this forum named "HOLLY" that is diluted in her thinking. Yes it's nice that WCBS-FM is back but honestly it's not really back. This is nothing close to the powerhouse WCBS-FM 101.1 has been in the past and under this new format it cannot last very long. Unless some drastic changes are made this station is clearly doomed to failure. I hope that the constructive criticism helps them see the errors in their ways. As long as I tune in and hear John Cougar, Billy Joel, Prince, Bruce Springsteen, George Benson, and all of the eighties stars I really don't need to hear on an oldies station I will turn it off. Don't get me wrong, I like Prince, the guy is great. I don't tune in to an oldies station to listen to Prince. I want to hear Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly, Bo Diddley, Elvis Presley, The Flamingos, Big Joe Turner, Lavern Baker, The Crests, The Drifters, The Coasters, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, Johnny Cash, Doo Wop, Rockabilly, Real Rock n Roll, Soul. If I have to wait an hour before I hear one song like this, while eighties and seventies hits are played, it's a waste. I've already surrendered, if this is really what you like then continue to listen. I can't tolerate it myself. If this is honestly what HOLLY prefers to hear then GOD bless her, enjoy your refined JACK station trying to be an oldies station.
