Which advertisers didn't want this audience? Towards the end, there were more commercials than ever on CBS-FM. I believe that they picked up more sponsors in their last months as an oldies station. Also, if we are such an undesirable audience, why do so many TV commercials try to attract 45+ buyers with oldies music as their themes?

This is simply industry doubletalk! If you're 16th you are not bringing in the audience. I'm a business owner and I won't put my money into ads on a 16th ranked station.
