I agree that money can be made with an oldies format but advertisers do not want to sell to anyone over 45, no matter how much disposable income they have. As long as business is done this way, there is no chance oldies will ever return to the New York airwaves.

When I first subscribed to Sirius, people told me I was crazy to pay for radio but I knew that someday our music would be gone from commercial radio. In 2003, I was a pioneer. Very few cars were being sold with satellite radio. In case you haven't seen the ad on TV, Sirius is being offered factory-installed at no charge with a 3-year free subscription on the 2006 Mercury Mountaineer. Times sure have changed!
