I'm not surprised about the drop in overall revenue that Jack is experiencing in New York. We could have told them this would happen from day one.

I keep up with what's going on in the business. I write about it as a guest contributor for an online publication.

Although I keep up with radio, I find very little worth listening to. Other than WINS and WQXR the classical station in New York, I don't really listen to radio. To much of it is insulting to the intelligence of the audience and it all sounds the same around the country.

The sad reality is that they will never admit that they made a mistake at CBS Radio. This is mainly due to perception. They don't want to be looked at as weak by others in the corporate community.

The people that say New York will not support an oldies station are the same ones that will jump on the band wagon when and if one returns to the city. They will comment on how great an idea this is and how they thought of it years ago.

Oldies, standards and even country are not being heard in New York and this is wrong.
