In New York, it's all about Wall St and Madison Ave. That is why in the #1 market you have the WORST music stations and the FEWEST choices in the country.

In San Francisco, KFRC was just revived, replacing FREE-FM which CBS owns. However, I don't think this will have any bearing on what CBS might do with 92.3 or 101.1 in New York. I am certain that oldies in any way shape or form will not be revived no matter what they do. They'll just replace FREE and/or JACK with another investor and advertiser friendly format.

If it were based on what listeners wanted, satellite and internet radio probably wouldn't exist.
