Joe - You call us whiners because we would like to have back the station we supported for over 30 years? People who read the newspaper headlines saying oldies are back are very excited and are due for a major disappointment. CBS management has made it crystal clear that this will be a Classic Hits Station without songs from the 50's and will have 80's instead. No Five Satins, no Duprees, no Earls, no Everly Brothers on a regular basis. They are bringing in Bill Lee, a man who for the better part of two decades has worked on stations that assaulted our eardrums. If you were ever stuck in a workplace with people playing those stations, you know exactly what I mean. They are looking for him to attract different listeners. We are too old in the eyes of the advertisers to have our own station anymore, so we have become a splinter group. The new station should do well, being that there is absolutely nothing worthwhile on the fm dial. I stopped listening to CBS FM about six years ago, because I couldn't take it. For those of you who can adapt to listening to 70's and 80's music, you will enjoy it forever how long it lasts. I admit I'm a dinosaur. I will listen to this only when I can't get Sirius or Scott Shannon's True Oldies Station. It's awesome! Here it's only on a small AM out of Danbury in the daytime only. Chicago was lucky when a major FM picked it up there. I really hope all of you enjoy the new station. I will sample it now and then. Excuse me for not being excited.
