As per your statement that Dan sounded like he was on CBS-FM because he had to be there not because he wanted to. When WABC stopped playing music in 1982, he started doing voice over work. He did not come to CBS-FM until 1991 although he was on the Rock and Roll Radio Greats Weekend before that. He did not want to work full time like Ron and Harry. He only wanted to work weekends. He never filled in for anybody when they were on vacation. He also had back surgery when he was at CBS-FM so that may have been part of the problem.
