Carlo-I aagree with you 100%. Your thoughts on a station that played oldies from 1955-1975 are excellent. That is the kind of oldies station I would like also with a large playlist with a lot of stuff you never hear on oldies stations anymore. During the last 2 years CBS-FM played oldies, they had a small playlist and you heard the same songs over and over again. Except for Sunday Night, they never played any pre 1964 music which was wrong. There are many wasted stations in NY Radio today especially on AM that would do well with oldies. Since you mentioned WQXR, the same people that own WQXR own WQEW. They lease that station out to Disney to put on kids programs. Why don't they lease it out to somebody who would put on oldies. They would get higher ratings and make more money than they do now with Disney. There is a market for oldies and if it is done right it will work. Your post is one of the best I have seen on this board. You know your stuff.
