I have said this many times in the past year. I find it very hard to believe and accept the fact that they were unable to sell as devoted an audience as the people that listened to WCBS FM during its years as an oldies station.

Unfortunately due to statements such as the one from the CEO of CBS Radio and the actions he took a year ago today in New York and Chicago, radio group owners took his move as the final answer and oldies stations started disappearing since last June.

Eventually if this trend continues, no one will be served on regular over the air radio. Everyone will go after the 25/54 demographic and everything will sound even more generic than it does now around the country. This will happen as people move to other places to get what they want which is a sad thing to ponder but it could happen in the next few years.

P.S. I hope I am wrong about my prediction.
