Everyone misses the point. The change to JACK had more to do with salaries than demographics or advertiser preference.

Infinity was "stopping the bleed" as they say in business. The combined yearly salaries of all of the personalities ran into millions per year. Jack costs next to nothing to run in comparison. That was more of a motivation than anything. They fully expected the same or larger audience share with drastically lower expenses. The experiment failed.
