Disagree here, Gil, about the referendum part, chiefly because this is a company that's shown consistency only in it's inability to handle music radio in NYC. They indeed have a referendum here, electing to reshuffle and restructure at every opportunity while avoiding admission of failure. They make their own demographic problems. As a result, scads of listeners are abandoning, not just Infinity stations but radio in general.

And if they thing they've had increasing demographic problems in the past, watch after January when they drop ANOTHER music station's audience entirely.

The correct move would've been to put Jack on 92.3 so they could corner the brand they so coveted. They could've cornered the entire oldies audience, younger and older. Everybody knew it. Everybody but Infinity NYC, that is.

Other stations and formats and companies are far more entitled to lean on that 'demographic problem' crutch. Infinity NYC doesn't recognize enough 'long-term viability' to use the excuse.
