You made a very good statement. However in my opinion the beginning of the end for CBS-FM was the early success of Jammin Oldies on 105.1. I liked the Jammin Oldies format. Jammin oldies 105.1 played alot of 70's music. I remember reading in the paper Joe McCoy's comments about Jammin oldies playing alot of 70's music and they were taking away alot of listeners and to get the listeners back they would start playing more 70's music. To do this CBS-FM started to eliminate 50's music from the playlist. The music they played on Jammin oldies was completely different than CBS-FM's music. This should never have been done. CBS-FM should have stayed with what it did best and what the audience wanted to hear. I have to admit during the last couple of years of CBS-FM as an oldies station I very rarely listened with exception of Cousin Brucie and Norm N. Nite's Sunday Night show from the Hall of Fame which was my favorite show the last couple of years. I also think CBS-FM treated Dan Ingram who is the greatest DJ of All time very poorly. Hopefully we will get another oldies station soon and that station will learn the lessons of the mistakes CBS-FM made.
