Subject: National pageants seem to exist in FIVE key areas

West Coast (CA, NV, AZ)
Texas (TX, AR, LA, OK)
Midwest (TN, KY, IN, OH)
South (FL, GA, AL, Carolinas)
Northeast (CT, NY, PA)

Each of these areas will have their local judges & local favorites. Anytime you compete in an area where you don't reside you are up against that. Imagine the odds that girls face coming from states like KS or MO that have no local ties. Sucks for them.

[> [> [> No, I didn't !! You think that these girls can't get by with their talent alone. I say that you will be surprised. It wouldn't be the first time!! -- No name, 20:26:48 04/16/06 Sun [1]

[> [> [> [> Take a CHILL PILL nobody said that. This is a fair pageant. ANY girl has an equal shot. The post was a general post how it is hard for a girl from outside states to break thru the political crap and win. We have all seen this with CS from CO. She is as talented as any girl in her group but leaves with low titles or nothing. Judges go with girls they have seen before and are there favorite. Not this pageant. I say go girls. Bring it and show us what you are made of. Good Luck. -- No name, 20:34:41 04/16/06 Sun [1]

[> [> [> [> [> That's funny you brought up CS. She is one I was thinking of, but she seems to do okay in the Texas area. There are other girls too. Look at MD, she does great here in TX, but has the same troubles outside the area. PRS is another one. All the girls are talented and will come into their own if their moms keep up with it. -- No name, 20:42:56 04/16/06 Sun [1]

[> [> [> [> You are still lost. Yes, they should be able to get by on their talent alone. What I am saying is that every area has a bias whether its fair or not. Pretend that I said North and South Dakota instead of Kansas & Missouri. Whatever the state, if they aren't in one of these preferred regions, it is my opinion that they have to work just a little harder for the same title because they don't have "an area" -- No name, 20:34:58 04/16/06 Sun [1]

[> [> [> [> [> [> Here's how you find out. Take those "outsider" girls (meaning the ones not residing in the states mentioned), and determine where they win the most and where they leave without titles. That should answer your question (assuming they compete in all those areas). -- No name, 20:46:06 04/16/06 Sun [1]

[> [> [> [> [> [> Not O.P but from my experience they are all bias. The big names travel and are known in all areas so after awhile they are favored along with local kids. Many of these girls are very talented and the judges have to make hard diccisions. If they know a girls have seen them and know they usually always win that tips the scale in that girls favor. -- No name, 20:48:28 04/16/06 Sun [1]
