Subject: Taking the ideal of Artemis the "Mommy" and Ash the "Daddy" of Kat, could work. However, I went back over Seize the Night (per Lucy's observation and I really want Kat to be Ash's Heroine). The scene with Kat and the stone Ash, this is where I really feel that Kat is the heroine not daughter. In the Dream Hunter, Kat's devotion and protectiveness was more daughter-ish (sister if you want to go there). NOW on to Bo theory about matisera. According to the Latin/Greek dictionary I looked at in Borders, Mat at the beginning,( sorry ladies please bear with my explaination) means mother, in womb (maternity), but also forms matron as in prison matron. Knowing that Apollymi is the "prisoner" and Artemis is sort of "prison matron". Kat's loyality is divided. In service to both. What do you think?

[> [> I have to say that I hope Kat is Ash's heroine. It's going to take a HUGH woman to take all of the grief/pain taht Ash has endured. Knowing that Kat is a handmaiden to Artemis will be a HUGH obstacle if she is his heroine, too -- one I would like to see SK unravel. And you know this will burn Artemis, so it needs to be someone more powerful than her, I think. Kat is. -- Ana, 15:39:27 02/13/07 Tue [1]

[> [> I remember the scene from Seize, but even then,it felt like a daughter to me-esp. if she has been kept away from him for whatever reason.I just think she's way too obvious,Sherri is just not one for doing obvious,LOL. I LOVE that info you found at Borders, very interesting.I think Kat is divided b/c she is running errands &spying for them both(and the whole relatives thing),but Kat made it quite clear to Apollymi that she would not help in freeing her,I think the Destroyer took that really matter-of-fact,you know? I have to wonder, that if Apollymi ever DID get free-which I think might very well happen in the last book(*sob, bawl*) ,if she would be so bent on destroying her whole family again, including Ash,since we are now 110% that he is her son,and if Kat is family or even his HEA.Does she report on Artie's activities, and Ash's? I think Apollymi uses some sort of crystal ball like thing to view Ash,etc.,so it makes me wonder exactly what Kat does for Apollymi. -- Boadicea, 15:40:59 02/13/07 Tue [1]
