Subject: This is the best answer I've heard so far to this question. Burgo said: I know that it is often mentioned that Ash has pulled those "soul" disks out of the backpack; (but he has to earn them from Artemis BEFORE he can place them in the backsack); it is also often mentioned that he pulls out cards and papers...I'm thinking that backpack is enchanted in some way, perhaps with access to other worlds or dimensions or gods. However, I have also thought from time to time that it just might house any possession that MEANS anything to him. Mementos that he managed to salvage when he was "human". You know...bric a brac that might look like junk to others, but things that are beyond price to the owner.
