Subject: How did you find the Dark Hunters and what is your relationship with the books?

On RBL there was all kinds of talk about Fantasy Lover when it first came out. I of course, had to check it out. While I loved the characters, I hated the fact that they didn't have sex until the end and also I felt like towards the end it started to become an episode of Xena: Warrior Princess. The Gods had taken over the book but I was interested enough in Sherri's writing to pick up Night Pleasures (plus she was a RBL author) and I couldn't put it down. I read it cover to cover and this a love affair with the Dark Hunters were born.

[> The book aisle at my work was next to my dept., and I kept glancing at the cover for "Kiss of the Night",it was eye-catching.Then after reading the blurb on the back I though "Vampires? Cool,I love vampire stuff.I'll buy this." That's when the darkside took over,MsEwill tell you.If it wasn't for RBL,I might have given up on the DH,I was SO confused. In fact,I think I joined RBL soon after reading that book, and I went back and read all the others and now I am an addict,theDark-Hunters are just amazing. -- Bo, 11:54:58 11/09/05 Wed [1]

[> [> For me, I had read Fantasy Lover first. Thought it was fun and I enjoyed it. That was that. I went onto a Vampire Romance kick..much like the werewolf romance hooked me into LKH, the vampire hook brought the Dark Hunters to my attention. I read Wulfs story first.(Kiss of the Night)..was intrigued by the theory behind it. Found out there was a book that kind of followed the time line (Night Embrace with Talon). loved that aspect of seeing the same world, timeframe and crisis from different angles and people..and the rest is reading history. Every Dark Hunter is unique. I root for them all to be saved, which makes wonderful stories. So romantic. -- Michele N., 12:24:17 11/09/05 Wed [1]

[> My favourite bookseller lady had been telling me for about a year to read Fantasy Lover and I kept reading the blurb and saying ....naaahh, sounds too corny. Finally one day she totally, absolutely, completely promised me that I would LOVE the book, so I bought it. Luckily for me Night Pleasures had been released not long before this and I could swiftly snatch it up. Fantasy Lover still goes down as one of my favourite books. -- Chez, 23:27:22 11/09/05 Wed [1]

[> I'M WRITING THIS IN CAPS BECAUSE I WANT THE CULPRIT TO SEE IT. IT'S ALL BOADICEA'S FAULT!!!! Yes, she kept pushing and coercing so I went out and hunted them down. Considering that I come from a small town and had to travel to Oklahoma City to find them all it really does lend credit to Bo's powers of persuasion. Well, I totally got sucked in and blame my RBL sisters for my addiction. And I thought I was too old for peer pressure! -- ~Sarah R.~, 20:57:06 11/10/05 Thu [1]

[> I didn't read DHs until Dance with a Devil was out... then I bought everything up to that, including the anthologies and read them all in a span of 4 days.... I never had a first hand understanding of an addition desparate enough to need a support group, until after those 4 days!!! I found out about DH because of RBL recommends (I'd read all of Kinley's books before though). -- Lina, 01:17:42 11/11/05 Fri [1]

[> [> The first time my mom sent me away from home (I was about 10), I spent the three months reading 7 volumes of greek mythology (my first love!)... What an adventure to revisit some of those mythical stars again as an adult and in such a delactable way.... (Yup I think that about explains it for me) -- Lina (missed the second part of the question), 01:20:58 11/11/05 Fri [1]
