Subject: Kat failing Artie, and also her ability to invoke Apollymi's powers

Okay,on page 10 it is mentioned that Kat failed Artie once-HOW? Any ideas? I'm thinking it maybe has something to do with Cassandra, when we met Kat in Kiss of the Night.

The other thing is page 165,where she mentions that she can invoke her grandmother's powers. Now,since Kat's powers were/are second only to Ash's (this was mentioned in Seize,I think)this is huge to me.I feel like it is going to be very important in future books.Any ideas?
