After all her token caring, for her to be THAT callous was a bit jarring. I think she knew. She's a manipulator at heart, right? If so, then it possibly was a stroke of genius on her part. Doesn't endear her to anyone, not by a long shot. But perhaps, she got the job done the only way she could, by being the "Artie" everyone expects.
