Hi David,

When I read your reply last night I was puzzled. I didn't know what 12 year old you were referring to. It wasn't until the wee small hours of the morning that it came to me that you were referring to the writings of our daughter when she was 12 years old entitled "The Meaning of Christmas."

David, every year I try to include something in our Christmas cards that give reference to our Lord, Jesus Christ. If it wasn't for the birth of Jesus, there wouldn't be a Christmas to celebrate! It only seems right to include Him in this celebration, don't you think?! This year I happened to come across this writing that our daughter did in school. Now, I don't know exactly what the assignment was but I am thinking that it had to do with what Christmas meant to the students. She wrote this in 1992, really not that long ago. Sad to think where our school system has come since then. In any case, when I came across this writing of hers I knew this was what would go in our Christmas cards this year. But I wanted to make sure she was ok with it. What really blessed me was that she said, "Momma, you don't have to say I wrote it. Just send it out without my name on it." Boy, was I touched by that. Had it been me I think I would have requested that my name be attached to it! I still have a ways to go, lol. I knew the Lord was very blessed by that gesture on her part.

You are more than welcomed for it. I will let Debbie (our daughter's name and she does most definately remind me of Deborah from Scripture - glory to God!) know what you have done with her writing. I know it will bring tears to her eyes and joy to her heart. She loves our Lord so much. As should we all.

David, I think I will share what she wrote here so others could be blessed by it as well. Truly, Christmas time is the time to celebrate the birth of our Lord, to be with family rejoicing in Him and God's goodness towards mankind. It is a wonderous time of year. Let it be known on every nation and heavenly realm, JESUS IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON!!!

God bless,
Joan
