Kayla Downs is a 22 year old who has made Arizona her home for the past eight years. Originally from Paducah, Kentucky, she prides herself in her southern heritage, but loves Arizona and says it now feels like �home�.

As Ms. Arizona United States 2006, Kayla hopes to bring awareness to her platform of �Child Abuse Prevention and Education.� She is currently a spokesperson for Free Arts for Abused Children of Arizona, a program that mentors children through the use of the Arts such as dance, music and painting. She truly cares about children and really hopes to make a difference. In fact, Kayla loves children so much that she not only volunteers with them, but also works with little girls every day at Girly Girlz Tea and Trinkets.

When not working in her volunteer endeavors, Kayla enjoys spending time with friends and family. Realizing that all children are not as fortunate to be surrounded by a large family, she tries to pass along this same love and support into her volunteer work. Her favorite life�s motto is �Love Does Not Measure, It Just Gives�.
