Subject: Hey dudes. Plans for today?
I was hoping to avoid the rain but I want to make pumpkin cheesecake and I find myself in need to cream cheese. And vogurt. And vegetables. So I'll be shopping, baking, working on my paper and organizing the upcoming move from the dorms to MY NEW FLAT! I'm gonna room with two girls who study with me and it's such a cool apartment. A bit further away from the center of town and I can say good-bye to my lake-side view but that's a small loss considering I'll have a real home away from home now. With a living room! And KITCHEN :D

Btw, the date was fine. He's kind of shy though and I really missed the ex for some reason afterwards. But P. already texted to say it was a nice night and he's up for another go so we'll see.

I've been out and about since 6.30am this morning working but am back at my desk now, knackered but its been a good productive day so to reward myself I'm tucking into a big piece of strawberry cheesecake as we speak :-)

I work on my own MacBook Pro, and three or four others here use MacBook Pros too, but otherwise all the machines in our office are iMacs and they are incredible machines. Beautiful to look at, blazingly fast, and the screens are simply gorgeous -- incredible colour definition, razor sharp images. Excellent for both work and for watching DVDs on. (We do some video production work.)
And, although it pains me to say this, if you're nervous about moving over to Mac OS X you can also dual-boot into Windows if you want, so you could actually run Windows on your Mac. (I think I heard an angel die as I wrote that.)
Ask Kashy and Richard, they have one. I seem to recall Richard saying he would marry it if he could.
And actually, given how highly specced it is, it is pretty good value for money. PCs aren't cheaper than Macs if you compare like with like.

I'd rather just go for it and force myself to deal with a new way of computing but you know what I'm like, I'm a bit worried I'll find it too confusing and end up frustrated with myself.
This won't be my work computer by the way, its for me, I use a PC for work that was provided for me.
What's Boot Camp exactly, how does it work and why would I need it? I'm only asking because I heard someone mention it but didn't really understand what they were on about.

If you're not bothered about running Windows you don't need to worry about it. And Mac OS X isn't a big departure it's a small one; it's what Windows would be like if it was written by people who knew what they were doing.

you talk just like the techy guys used to at work, they had little time or patience with Windows but were obliged to use it because that's what the Uni used everywhere for everything, they had to keep us running, they all had Macs at home.
