Subject: So I just registered to vote online..................

fine, apparently its something I'm obliged to do or else

trouble is who the hell do I vote for next time? for the first time I really don't know to be honest, I don't trust any of the three main parties to run the country properly but I sure as hell don't want the BNP gaining any more seats which is what will happen if folks like me abstain from voting altogether, yet I feel so apathetic about it all, I used to be so sure now I'm really not.

In my opinion New Labour have been disastrous for Britain. The Tories wouldn't have done any better, in my opinion they would have been even more draconian in the authoriarian decimation of civil liberties in the face of the "war" on terror, and even more pandering to the City of London's financial services, who screed up our economy, and they have proved just as incapable of doing something to make the health and education services function properly. New Labour have had a distasteful attitude towards immigration, migrant workers, and multi-culuralism, but again I believe the Tories would be even worse.

Which leaves the Liberal Democrats. They have no chance of gaining power, and no experience to run the country if they did. Nevertheless, on question of prinicple they have consistently said the right thing (IMO) over and over on all the issues I mentioned above. Desperate times call for desperate measures, so it the Liberal Democrats who've been getting my vote for quite some time now, and they will continue to do so.

But the Tories will definitely win and then the country will be even more fucked. Thank God I live in France. I'm not coming back. Really, I'm not.

How sad you're not coming back here, and I'm not joking or fooling around, I really mean it *hug*
