Subject: *sigh* I'm all at sixes and sevens

anyone would think I was still in my teens, can't decide whether or not to take up an offer of a job working at home for a member of my family, I would have to travel a little with him now and again but mostly it would be all his admin work which is just too vast for him now, it would also involve co-ordinating all his salespeople out in the field sorting out their schedule, payments, vehicles, travel and such. He's so chaotic though that's the only problem which is why he needs someone like me full time take it all in hand, he's using temps at the moment which is ok but he wants someone he can trust to deal with the finances too which he has to do himself right now. I just spent the last couple of hours sorting out some paperwork for him, I've worked for him on and off for a few years so its not as if it would be something totally new.

We get on fine no problem, but is working for family a good idea?

Then again, I love the idea of working from home, I might even try and find something else too, I'm sure I could manage two jobs easily enough

*ponders*

Bet I don't get much sleep tonight

It sounds great in theory. I've done it. A lot as a freelancer. The trouble is that work and non-work blend into one another -- there's no distinction between where one starts and the other ends, and also you can find yourself going stir crazy. I used to go for days at a time without seeing or talking to anyone else.

although I am very organised and focused when it comes to my work and I would have an offce set upaway from the restthe apartment I know what you are saying about the dangers of work and home life blending into one another, however I wouldn't be going for days without seeing anyone, just the opposite probably once my family and friends got used to my be being at home most of the time. There will be times when I'll be on the road too away from home for a few days at a time which will be a nice change

As Gretch says it would be ok until I find something I can love but I'm not holding my breath to be honest, unless something exeptional comes up I count myself lucky I have this option, some of my colleagues are starting to panic already and we haven't even gone on any visits yet.
