Subject: Wallander

I just watched all three episodes of the BBC adaptations of Wallander, the Swedish crime/detective novels, with Kenneth Brannagh as the lead. The first one was a little weak, but the second and third were really good. I hope they make more.

(Yes, that is an astoundingly boring way to spend a Friday night in Paris but I was tired and it is frikkin' freezing here.)

BTW, for UK boardies with cable: apparently FX are about to start airing Generation Kill, a seven part HBO mini-series written by Ed Burns and David Simon (of The Wire fame) about the Iraq war; it is absolutely fantastic and I highly recommend it.

so I'll need to set myself up with a reminder on the PVR or I'll miss it like I missed Wallender apparently, I can't find it in the schedule anywhere but my brain isn't working too well today.

Halfway through The Wire season 1 by the way.

I persuade my friends James and Jonathan to start watching it and they both said the same thing -- they found it a really slow burn at first but after four episodes they suddenly realised they were completely hooked and couldn't stop watching
