(And which she did do, without me telling her.)

In other words did you get it out of the water immediately and remove the battery?

If you did, then leave it to dry for a few days and it may very well be okay. If it isn't, it is covered by your household insurance. As I recall, what Gabs was worried about was losing her phone contents more than the phone itself, which if Mike's phone is brand new isn't really a problem.

Nevertheless, you are a complete idiot.

Girls are so clumsy and cack-handed. A man would never do that.

otherwise I'd kick your arse from here to kingdom come!!

and yes, clever clogs, OF COURSE I took the battery out!

I'm still in the doghouse though and will be for a while I think until the damn thing works again, he's really pissed off with me AGAIN *sigh*

I've tried pointing out that he hasn't even transported all his info into the damn thing yet, he's still using his old one but it's not cutting any ice with him, I've fucked up his new toy and he's not playing with me any more even though it was him that left it on the edge of the kitchen sink which is a black marble effect, that's why I didn't see it and knocked it in the water.

so it's the spare room for me tonight I suppose *sulks*

Surely if you're in your flat Mike has to sleep in the spare room? I mean he's sulking so surely he sleeps in the spare room? Nothing would force me from my own bed.

But it's still your fault his phone landed in the sink.

and it SO was not my fault, I didn't see it!!

*stamps foot*

anyway, there'll be no spare room sleeping for either of us, we've made up and he's just gone off for a takeaway

drama over

*big grin*

I thought you still had separate places but just spent a lot of time at each others

P.S. It's cool to just be able to chat on here without having to be in front of my computer. This is all being typed on my iPhone.

he still has his flat though but rents it out on short term lets to produce some income, very handy

Isn't it awkward typing out stuff on your iPhone? where are you anyway? not still at work surely?! (kidding)

Not home home, as in Edinburgh (which BTW I might have a buyer for), but in Cambridge, at Thomas's my flatmate and star of the video I posted. The iPhone is great for typing on, much nicer than any other phone or PDA I've ever used.

Very impressive. :-)

Mike was going to but changed his mind and bought the Viewty instead, think I'll wait and see what I think of the newbie when it finally arrives.

You might have a buyer? brilliant!! hope it goes through ok for you, won't it be lovely to get your own place?!!!

The new 3G iPhone will almost certainly be announced on Monday. They will be available in the UK shortly afterwards. They will probably be expensive, although there are rumours that Apple may be more flexible this time around and allow O2 and other partners to offer discounts.

However, lots of people (possibly including myself) will want to upgrade, and so you will almost certainly be able to pick up the current version of the iPhone on ebay for very little money as soon as the new one is out.

Well, mine works now anyway, and I hope his will too!

Btw DZR - I checked out that site that backs up your phone contents and unfortunately Sharp isn't a brand they work with. So I'm still sort of thinking about getting a new phone, my Sharp is getting rusty anyway.

[> [> That's the trouble with mobile phones -- DZR, 11:28:28 06/05/08 Thu [1] (82.6.99.15)

You end up with a whole bunch of data on them that you can't get off again. Why you can't save your SMS and MMS messages and transfer them to a new phone is beyond me.

For me now it is an absolute requirement that any future phone of mine seamlessly syncs with the tools I use on my computer -- addresses, calendars, music, photos, video. Now as a Mac user that sort of makes the iPhone a no-brainer, but if Apple suddenly vanished off the face of the Earth tomorrow I'd still want the same thing: whatever phone I had I would want to just connect it to my computer and have everything on it instantly sync, so I would never lose data ever again and transferring data on to a new phone would be simplicity itself.

I can't believe how hard it still seems to be to do that. (Which is what is cool about ZYB -- what a pity they don't support your phone!)

[> [> [> I wholeheartedly agree -- Gabs, 11:38:00 06/05/08 Thu [1] (83.222.159.231)

I love the idea of ZYB and I'm definitely making sure my next phone will be compatible. Maybe an iPhone, it sure is tempting...

Btw I added a photo on Facebook, so now you can't complain anymore! ;-)
