Subject: Bad news...

You know, you are all so wonderful. You will be buoying my spirits in the days to come...My mom has lung cancer. No, not a smoker, quit 24 years ago. The slow growing kind, but the doc told her she has five years. She's got to have radiation every day for awhile and chemo once a week. I told her...it's going to be soooo much better than when she went through it with her breast cancer years ago...but it ain't gonna be pretty. I'm waiting to see how she goes through the initial stuff. I'm going to visit in a couple of weeks. :-( Big sigh. My dad died when I was a kid, my brother 4 1/2 years ago. I'm kind of mad at all them for leaving me all alone. But not really... just feeling a little bit sorry for myself. I have a huge extended family and friends here and YOU GUYS! We really do have a wonderful group. Thanks dudes..;-)

How awful for this to happen after she made it through breast cancer. But what do doctors know anyway, my former neighbor had breast cancer and the doctor also said 5 years, and she lived a lot longer!

Has it already been 4 and a half years since your brother died? I actually remember that.

I'm glad you have a huge extended family and lots of super cool friends too! *smooch*

At least, as you say, the treatment is going to be so much easier for her this time around (both due to medical advances and the fact that she knows what to expect.)
