Subject: Question for Darren...

Hello!

Quick question, as I now have wireless internet set up again (and can thus use the Mac again - whoop whoop!)

At the moment we're using Azureus for our torrents (and due to our new fast connection, getting very nice download speeds; at one point 1.4Mb/ps!). I just wondered if Azureus is the torrent software you would recommend for Macs, or if there's anything faster/more user friendly/generally better?

I really don't like Azureus. It's written in Java, it feels clunky and there are five billion configuration options. I like software that's small and light on its feet, does one thing or a few things very well, and "just works" with a minimum of configuration. To me, and this is me with my user interface designer hat on, every option, preference, and configuration twiddle more than the absolute bare minimum is a sign of a bad design decision.

With that in mind, this is my favourite BitTorrent client:

Transmission

I sit for ten minutes fiddling with various options, then just when I think I've got everything configured, I see another option that just ends up confusing me again!

I've got everything running in Transmission now, all seems to be going smoothly. Thanks for the advice!

We're big in London with high-powered women executives in the city. I'm afraid you just can't afford us anymore.
