She could sense his pain and it killed her, for a second she was tempted to just continue on with this kiss, to cry into his chest and let him take care of her but then she remembered that he hadn't wanted that responsibility and to give it to him now wouldn't do either of them any good in the long run. Reluctantly, he had to be able to feel how reluctant it was, she pulled back, taking a step away from him since she needed some distance to keep herself from throwing herself into his arms. She didn't even know what to say to him at the moment so she did what she did best, she hid behind her ice queen facade and put her emotions on a shelf as if they didn't exist. "Can't get away from me even if you go across the ocean." She stated with a wry tone to her voice before she continued. "...apperantly our assignments criss cross each other." She was actually after Wallace's right hand man instead of Wallace himself and had come here also to talk to Dare and Lochlann if she could track them down that was. She had come here expecting to find a Laird who could help her with her work and instead found him, it just seemed like to great of a coincidence to end up on the opposite of the world in the exact same place as him. Her hand smoothed over the leather jacket absently, as if to give her hands something to do so that they wouldn't reach out to him of their own accord.
