(He watched her for a long moment until he realized he was holding his breath and let it out on a sigh. He had been tortured for three hours less than a month ago.. and he would gladly go back and endure it all again right then and there to have a chance to make things right with her.. he didn't know how he could go on knowing that he had been the one to shatter her innocence. He had thawed the ice queen only to throw the beautiful and tender princess within straight into the fire.) I wish you had had more faith in me, Haylie. (He said in a raw and defeated tone, unable to bear watching her hurt over him any longer.. it was just too much for him to take and it was cutting him too much.) I just want you to know before you go back out there that I love you still, and that I never meant to hurt you. (His voice was breaking as he said the words, and though he had more to say there was no hope of getting out when he was feeling so raw and damaged just then. Without another word he turned to continue his walk back up to the keep.. if she wanted him she knew where he was, but he couldn't stand another moment of seeing her in pain without being able to be there for her.. and to hear her put his actions into such callous terms made him feel like the lowliest scoundral. Inside the keep, he passed the group gathered in the greathall and crossed to the stairs, going straight up to his chambers and sitting in the dark in the chair near the fire.)

She sighed deeply, shaking her head as she watched him go upstairs, apperantly that first meeting didn't go as well as she had hoped it would though really, realistically, she had known it wouldn't. She smiled at Dag before she excused herself to go upstairs, making sure that he didn't drown himself in port. Without knocking, she just stepped in, heading over to sit in the chair across from him. "It's going to take time, you know. Neither one of you are going to just get over the pain and hurt the first time you see one another..." She let out a soft breath before she picked up the bag of marshmellows she had brought up with her and pulled one out, handing it to him with a sparkling gaze that spoke of sympathy and genuine care for this stranger that she hardly knew.
