true all of canarsie, flatlands,part of old mill bsain and georgetown have become all or mostly black,but heres a few facts you havent thought of. The names and faces have changed so have the cultures but people are still people, and like all people in general they want to better theirs and their childrens lives. You should take it as a compliment that these people are deciding to raise their children on the same hollowed streets and schools we all love. Most of these newcomers are hard working african americans who have bought many old dilapidated houses and are investing money to improve the neighborhood we left behind. Inactuallity I still own a house in canarsie and my new neighbors)who happen to be jamaican)are nicer then my fellow italians and irish neighbors I had before. Not to say they are better or worse but if we all think back to our past youthful adventures in reality we all were a pretty wild bunch. Most of us grew up around ampant vandalism,drug dealing and crime but refused to see it as that at the time. Think back folks and ask yourself if you would want your childen exposed to some of the same influences that we were exposed to. Thats the 2nd reason why most of us moved( i need not mention the first). Alot of us still earn our livings with or from african americans and they are no different from us. Today I find the same thing happening in my multimilliondollar area in florida today with a huge influx of diffrent types of hispanics. Hey guys wake up watch he history channel and realize that your ancestors were once considered the lowest form of life in ny. Canarsie was an outpost, land that nobody wanted when it was settled, lets give people a chance.
