~+~*Kiyoshi and Kohiro didn't seem too alarmed as they helped the other survivors to their feet. The fox and owl began teleporting them away one at a time, back to their respective homes.

Kashiko avoided any injury from the fall or broken mirrors by warping into a bird about halfway through the fall. She had changed back right after impact, and seemed unharmed. She sat up slowly, turned to Cye and smiled.*~+~

Kashiko- I'm glad that you came. I didn't think that anyone ever would....

~+~*The fox and owl bowed and made their own exit in small animal form, vanishing into the woods.

Niwa helped Kaze to his feet, though when he tried to thank her his voice didn't seem to work. That seemed to alarm him, so he vanished.

Niwa sighed, and sat down with the twins along one of the walls.*~+~

Niwa- This has been.... a long day.

~+~*Yuki came back inside at that point in time, followed by the surviving Mandragoras- all of whom had been in the barrier keeping the others away. Kyuhra was with them, and she took a moment to speak with you.*~+~

Kyuhra- Thank you... They do not cry anymore. Those who wronged us and you have gone. We do not... mourn.

~+~*As she was speaking, Kashiko took your hand and healed the wound that Kyuhra had placed there earlier.*~+~

Kyuhra- It will be hundreds of years, returning population to what it was yesterday. We will be good here- find different barrier that won't hurt.

~+~*She held out her hand, and you actually saw the green coloring of her skin grow paler as a light blue flower bloomed in her palm. You recognized the color- you had seen petals from the same type of flower being carried around the forest by wind, but they grew on trees. Did that mean that Mandragora's who lived full lives became trees in the woods? She plucked the little blossom, and handed it to you. You noted that there was a small heart-shaped pattern along the edges that was slowly becoming more apparent. It was a deeper blue, and the edges of those hearts sparkled slightly.*~+~

Kyuhra- Gift, life flower. Will ward Dark Ones.

~+~*She bowed to you, and then left with the rest of the Mandragora's who had followed her. They all vanished into the woods, probably to remain gone for the remainder of the night.*~+~

Niwa- So what now?

Kiyoshi- I think we should stay here for a while...

Kohiro- The forest isn't exactly safe at night, and we could all use the rest.

~+~*Yuki and Fenrir sank down against the wall on either side of the door as Kari hovered inside the frame.*~+~

Fenrir- So... Moon Child, what brought you here?

Kashiko- I actually came here willingly. I had gone to visit another nearby world- there were Mirror Demons there, saying that they were harvesting life. I got there too late to do much good, but they were in the process of taking a hatchling Blood Dragon and an Azure Dragon that had ended up in the same nest somehow. I offered myself in their place, and they gladly accepted. Though, in retrospect, it was probably a foolish move on my part....

Fenrir- How so?

Kashiko- The world I was on was called Alondian. It's actually considered to be a severed world, since nobody really goes there willingly and the residents have been left alone there pretty much since the time when the last humans left. It is the last hatchery for the First Dragons, so people stay away. While I was there, I felt something.... wrong. I can't really say what, but something didn't sit right with me. I don't know if it was empathy coming from the animals or something in the air.
