it is not considered normal, even by our standards. the masses rarely kill or get killed unless they get too close to a dragon or something- and every death is greatly mourned. except for ours. there are few who understand. those who figure it out are rarely seen again, and when they are, they look a bit 'empty' and can no longer talk. there was also no talk of this in the history books until a few millenia ago.
